• Quark is a Ferengi, He is the owner and operator of Quark's Bar, Grill, Gaming House and Holosuite Arcade, the station's most popular establishment, and is always looking for ways to make a profit.

• Rom, is Quark's brother and works at the bar as a waiter. He is known for being less cunning and ambitious than his brother, but he is also more loyal and honest.

• There are other characters such as the Bajoran spiritual leader Kai Winn, the Cardassian tailor Garak, and the former Cardassian Gul Dukat, among others, that also play a important role in the series.
